What is Silicone Dioxide (SiO2)?

Silicon Dioxide (otherwise known as quartz) is a naturally occurring mineral that is the main ingredient in the manufacture of glass. In an automotive sense, Silicon Dioxide is most commonly used as a basis for ceramic coatings and paint protection under its chemical name “SiO2”.

SiO2 contains extremely strong nano polymers that bond almost instantly to painted surfaces to create an extremely durable protective barrier. This barrier provides resistance against environmental contaminants and harsh UV and creates an extremely hydrophobic (water beading) surface. The Nano particles easily fill microfine imperfections within the paintwork which creates a much deeper gloss and incredibly smooth surface.

KENWORTH GENUINE PRO WASH

A super foaming concentrated wash gel.

Kenworth Genuine Pro Wash is a concentrated super foaming wash gel in the iconic Kenworth Red colour, coupled with the popular Ice fragrance. It can be used via a high-pressure foam cannon, low-pressure foam gun or standard bucket wash.

With its extremely high solid content compared with conventional truck washes, the higher level of active components means Kenworth Genuine Pro Wash has a dilution potential ratio up to 200:1. Wash performance is better on traffic film, insect spatter and exhaust soot than traditional truck washes.

When used through a foam cannon, Kenworth Genuine Pro Wash creates a thick, shaving cream-style foam that clings to the vehicle. After a few minutes, the foam will begin to slip down the vehicle body as it encapsulates and loosens the dirt, carbon and other road grime. Kenworth Genuine Pro Wash is then rinsed from the vehicle, removing heavy, scratch-producing soils.

A hyper-concentrated synthetic spray wax.

Kenworth Genuine Spray Wax is a hyper-concentrated synthetic spray wax which is engineered to produce the highest possible shine to your vehicle’s paint.

Combined with silicon dioxide (Si02), our special synthetic wax formula produces a higher gloss, slicker feel and more durable protective coating than standard carnauba wax.

It is extremely versatile in its range of applications. Use on dry paint as a spray and wipe, foam onto wet paint and hose off for an easy spot-free rinse after washing or spray onto a wet vehicle and chamois dry for an amazingly soft finish.

Kenworth Genuine Ceramic Spray Sealant utilises Silicon Dioxide (Si02) nano-ceramic quartz technology to provide a durable sealant in a spray and wipe application. The unique advanced polymer formulation creates a coating with high gloss (‘wet-look'), a silky smooth finish, superior water repellence and UV protection.

A water-based gel providing a great natural sheen.

Kenworth Genuine Tyre Gloss is a non-flammable water-based gel that produces a natural sheen to tyres, exterior plastic, rubber, mudguards and mudflaps.

Being water-based, it produces a dry film that avoids the ‘silicone sling’ that conventional solvent-based tyre dressings produce.

Kenworth Genuine Tyre Gloss’ special formula also helps to restore faded plastics as well as minimise re-fading due to its UV protection properties.

A highly concentrated solution for grease & grime.

Kenworth Genuine Degreaser is a heavy-duty concentrated, low-caustic degreaser designed for the quick removal of grease, grime and stubborn road film from engines, chassis and bodywork.

Kenworth Genuine Degreaser is also ideal for all general workshop degreasing and workshop floor cleaning purposes.

The unique blend of alkalis, surfactants, natural solvents, and sequestering agents in Kenworth Genuine Degreaser allows maximum removal of soils with minimal effort. The low caustic formula provides good emulsification of oils and greases and does not take your breath away when using the product. The application can be via spraying, brushing, wiping, or foaming onto surfaces.

1. What makes the Kenworth Genuine Cleaning Range different to what is currently available?

Technology in chemistry has evolved considerably, particularly in synthetic polymers and detergents. The Kenworth Genuine range optimises the latest ingredients resulting in more concentrated formulations that are softer on paintwork, plastics and alloys than traditional truck- washing products.

2. What is Ceramic Si02 technology and what are its benefits?

Si02 or Silicon Dioxide is the main ingredient in the manufacture of glass. Taking this and combining it with Nano Synthetic Polymers creates a durable protective coating that resists environmental contaminants and harsh UV. It also creates an extremely hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface. These microscopic polymers provide a much smoother finish creating a higher gloss on all surfaces.

3. What are the differences between the two wash products?

The core structure of both washes is similar in utilising the latest synthetic detergents and in the level of concentration. The Kenworth Wash & Wax though has the added benefit of containing Si02 and high levels of synthetic wax. Synthetic Wax has been used as it outperforms natural waxes such as Carnauba and Bees Wax in durability and gloss level.

4. The Kenworth Spray Wax & Kenworth Ceramic Spray Sealant are new. What are the benefits of using these products?

Both of these products are used after washing the vehicle and to further enhance the gloss and the protective coating.

Spray Wax is a highly concentrated Synthetic Wax. Adding this product results in an instant water beading and high gloss finish to the surface. Drying the vehicle is also much easier.

The Ceramic Spray Sealant is the optimum in providing a super glossy, silky finish to any surface. Vehicles will remain cleaner for longer and subsequent cleaning is much easier. It can also be used as a spray to remove light dust and road grime without the risk of scratching.

5. What about the environmental and OH&S considerations of the Kenworth Range?

All of the products are biodegradable and phosphate free. They can also be used where interceptor pits are in use. Washes are pH neutral, non-acid, non-alkaline and non-corrosive and do not contain harsh ingredients.

The Kenworth Tyre Gloss is a Water Based Emulsion, completely nonhazardous, non-flammable and doesn’t “sling off” silicone onto the vehicle.
